TLC has announced a new six-episode series in its “Say Yes to the Dress” family. Like the original, “Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss” will take place inside Kleinfeld Bridal. Except in “Big Bliss,” all the brides are plus size. In honor of the new show, I thought I’d spotlight some pretty plus size wedding gowns.

Buying quality basics is important, but sometimes you want to add some casual pieces to your wardrobe without spending too much money. This tunic from Just My Size, available at Walmart, should fit the bill. It has a lovely crocheted back and shoulder detail.

To me, summer dressing is all about being cool and comfortable. I don’t want to wear anything too clingy, too structured or too formal. I want to throw an easy top over a pair of khaki capris or denim shorts, slip on some sandals and go. This pretty yellow tank top from Torrid would be a great part of your summer wardrobe.

Today is the first day of spring, and that means warmer weather is on the way. This is a great time to think about what you’ll be wearing at the pool or beach. This one-piece swimsuit from Target would be a great choice.

If you shop for plus size clothes online, you’ve probably visited the Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug and Catherine’s sites many times. Your shopping may have just gotten a little easier, thanks to a new feature from parent company Charming Shoppes.

If you go to a Victoria’s Secret at your local mall, you may get the idea that sexy lingerie is only for those sizes 12 and smaller. But that’s far from true. Many plus size stores have lingerie lines that are made to flatter a fuller figure. This chemise from Zaftique is a great example of a feminine, sexy silhouette for you and your special someone.

Tim Burton’s re-imagined “Alice in Wonderland” releases in the US on March 5, and anticipation for the film is reaching a fever pitch. Disney has just announced that it is partnering with several designers and retailers for “Alice” inspired jewelry, cosmetics and even clothing (not available in plus sizes, unfortunately).

A lot of the featured clothes here are the kind that would appeal to women in their 20′s and 30′s, so I thought I’d pick something today for a slightly younger curvy gal. This pleated pyramid-style skirt from Torrid is evokes a school uniform, but with a punk edge. It features a versatile black-and-white plaid design, and is has non-removable straps at the top. Solid black fabric sets off the pleats.

Lane Bryant is, of course, the plus size retailer everyone knows. It’s got stores around the country, and some of the biggest names in plus size modeling. The store’s clothes will appeal to young professionals, but there’s really something there for everyone. Plus, they have some of the prettiest, most feminine lingerie you’ll find in plus sizes.  And the new Icon Collection brings a higher-end product to the store.
