“Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe is looking gorgeous on the cover of this month’s Ebony magazine. The issue’s theme is image as it relates to African-Americans. In a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot, Gabby talks about the amazing opportunity she’s been given, and how she worked to keep the character of Precious true to the one presented in “Push.”

There have been two high-profile magazine spreads featuring larger models in recent months. The first, from Glamour, included Crystal Renn, Amy Lemons, Ashley Graham, Kate Dillon, Anansa Sims, Jennie Runk and Lizzie Miller, all in the buff. Then, in V Magazine’s January issue, several more plus size models were shown both nude and clothed. The pictorials received a lot of attention and positive feedback from readers. So are agents and models gearing up for more business?

Models.com has posted several photos from the much talked-about plus size photo shoot of V Magazine. The images are from the magazine’s size issue, which hits newsstands Jan. 14. The plus-size models are both clothed and nude, and they are beautiful.

After Page 6 — in an article whose headline starts “Heavy Changes” — broke the news that edgy fashion magazine V would be devoting an issue to plus size models, several Web sites have not praised the magazine, but derided the move as a publicity stunt. The thinking goes, what are the chances V will continue to use larger models after this issue? It seems to some that the magazine is cashing in on the popularity of plus models in other magazines such as Glamour.
