Tie-Shoulder Surplice Dress

One of the great things about warm weather is the casual summer dress. This one from Old Navy is versatile, and at only $20, super affordable. On a summer day, the dress would look great on its own with a pair of sandals. Or, wear it under a lightweight cardigan or casual jacket with a pair of ballet flats. If you’re uncomfortable with the plunge neckline, try a pretty camisole underneath.

Argyle Style Tunic

This top includes some of my favorite features in clothes: an empire waist, interesting neckline and versatile color scheme. Plus, it’s a tunic, so it’s going to be flattering. The neckline and sash are adorned with metallic decorative buttons, and it ties in the back, letting you customize your fit.

Tantalus Chemise

If you go to a Victoria’s Secret at your local mall, you may get the idea that sexy lingerie is only for those sizes 12 and smaller. But that’s far from true. Many plus size stores have lingerie lines that are made to flatter a fuller figure. This chemise from Zaftique is a great example of a feminine, sexy silhouette for you and your special someone.

Pleated plaid pyramid skirt

A lot of the featured clothes here are the kind that would appeal to women in their 20’s and 30’s, so I thought I’d pick something today for a slightly younger curvy gal. This pleated pyramid-style skirt from Torrid is evokes a school uniform, but with a punk edge. It features a versatile black-and-white plaid design, and is has non-removable straps at the top. Solid black fabric sets off the pleats.

Wild Cheetah Coat

I live in the South, where it’s only really cold a handful of days out of the year. So I don’t want to spend $200 on a coat I’ll rarely wear. This cheetah print coat, from Forever 21’s plus size line Faith 21, is both inexpensive and stylish. The double-breasted coat will add a nice touch of color and personality to a conservative outfit, and it’s fairly lightweight, perfect for areas where it doesn’t get too cold.

Embellished maxi dress

Can I tell you a secret? I adore super-long skirts and dresses, like this maxi dress from SWAK Designs. Not quite formal, but not casual either, it’s the kind of dress you wear when you want to be dressed up and elegant, yet still feel comfortable.
This dress has a flattering V-neck and empire waistline, which is embellished with three rows of rhinestones. Also, the nearly elbow-length sleeves are perfect for ladies who prefer to cover their upper arms and shoulders.

Ruffled tie-waist top

What I love about shirts like this ruffled top from Old Navy is that they’re versatile. Wear it under a cardigan or blazer in the fall and winter, or on its own during the warmer months.
The top, made from a soft jersey fabric, has pretty ruffles around the neckline, and a tie that defines the waist. If you work in a casual office, you could pair it with khakis and a cardigan with a pair of cute flats. Or add it to your weekend wardrobe with knee-length shorts and sandals.

Studded, printed, ribbed tee

If you’re like me, you’re ready for spring, and already eying the new tees out in stores.
This 3/4-length sleeve top from Avenue has a pretty scroll design, but it’s also all about texture. The tee has a fine rib, and atop the tone-on-tone pattern is a design made from metal studs. Another detail I really like in this shirt is the neckline, which Avenue calls a “Taj neckline.” (Like a scoop neck with a small V inset)
It’s available in a light bluish purple, with a dark blue/purple pattern, or in …

See Through Lace Top

Sexy clothes don’t have to be skin-tight or be all about your cleavage. Sometimes it’s better to show a little than a lot. This lacy red top, from PlusSizeFix.com, lets you bare some skin without being vulgar about it. But don’t worry – you’ll still get plenty of attention when you put this on.
A band of lace starts just above the bust, and it also features lace sleeves. It ties above the shoulders, and is snug around the hips, creating a bubble style.
In red, the top comes in sizes 1X …

Lace Illusions Skirt

Curvy List’s last featured item was a pretty ruffled blouse that would work great for a holiday party. Here’s an inexpensive skirt you could pair with it.
The lace illusions skirt from Fashion Bug falls just below the knee, a length appropriate for a special event but also for work. (It would look great with a pretty blazer) The skirt has an elastic waist, and has pretty pleating around the hem.
It comes in misses and plus sizes, from small to 26/28. The plus size skirt is 26 ½ inches, and the …
